The Ivory Consort in concert, St. Mary's Church,
May 11, 7:30 pm. Come to hear one of the most exciting music groups
in New York, the Ivory Consort as they play 'music from the land of three
faiths.' This is music from the Jewish, Islamic and Christian communities of 14
th and 15th century Spain.
Easter Lilies on the Altar are given to the Glory of God and in loving memory of Mrs. Hortense Alexander by her family. Easter Lilies are also given to the Glory of God and in thanksgiving for the life and witness for peace of the Rev. William Sloan Coffin, retired Senior Minister, of Riverside Church by Dr. Betty Reardon. Easter Lilies are also given to the Glory of God by Mrs. Enita Hinkson, Ms. Dorothy Johnson, Ms. Harriet Wyatt and Ms. Edna Estime.
Congratulations and God bless you to our newly baptized brother, Azius Dario Villa, the son of Juan and Christine Villa and grandson of Valerie Joseph. May you grow in Christ's love each day and may God watch over you in this community as we proclaim God's nercy.
CROPWALK: The Church World Service Annual Appeal to end hunger is currently in progress. Please put your donation in our Special Offering envelopes and include your name and address. Checks and money orders should be made payable to CWS/CROP. The campaign finale will be the "CROP Walk" on Sunday, April 30 beginning at the Church of the Heavenly Rest at 5 th Ave. and 90th St. at 2:00pm. We hope to see you there! Join us as we march for Peace and
Justice, demanding an end to torture and bringing the troops home from
Iraq on Saturday, April 29, 2006. Sponsored by United for
Peace and Justice (UFPJ). We will leave St. Mary's at 9:00 am for the
interfaith service prior to the march at 10:00 am. The march starts at 12
noon. The religious marchers will gather on 18 th Street
between Broadway and Fifth Avenue (enter on Fifth Avenue).
Also: Please join Clergy and Laity Concerned about Iraq (CALC-I) on
Monday, May 1st at 10 am for a prayer vigil at the
United Nations and a 12 noon demand at the U. S. Mission to shut down the
Guantanamo prison camp. Please let Rev. Kooperkamp know if you will
attend.
Rev. Kooperkamp will be in Chicago from this afternoon until Wednesday evening.
